Alison Friesen is a Registered Dietitian specializing in the areas of sport nutrition, wellness, disordered eating, fertility and digestive health. She graduated from the U of S with a BSc. in Nutrition and completed her dietetic internship with the Saskatoon Health Region. Alison brings a strong athletic background to the field of nutrition, growing up competing in athletics, soccer and volleyball, both indoor and outdoor. Alison also spent a year in New Zealand, participating in an outdoor adventure program and finishing the program off by running a triathlon.
Alison Friesen Nutrition offers a range of services, focused on the individual or team needs. Her mission is to provide clients with the necessary tools that will empower them to achieve performance goals and a healthy lifestyle by offering personalized counseling and coaching with a foundation in evidence based research. She provides clients with counseling/coaching, workshops, team presentations and goal setting, meal planning and support. She is passionate about empowering others to continually expand their knowledge and live a healthy, balanced life.
Alison is also a Consultant for the Sport Medicine & Science Council of Saskatchewan, working with a large range of athletes. Clients include Canadian Para-Olympic athletes, NHL, WHL and a range of other hockey athletes, Saskatchewan Provincial Teams, University athletes and a number of club teams of various sports around Saskatoon and Saskatchewan.
Alison enjoys working with a range of ages, including children, youth and adults. She understands that developing healthy eating habits starts at a young age and loves to work with families to help them support their young athletes and develop a balanced household. Alison is sensitive and brings an empathetic demeanor when working with children, youth, adults and families who have or have had a history of disordered eating.
